       The Organizing Committee of the joint conference of the 6th International Acid Sulfate Soil Conference and the Acid Rock Drainage Symposium accepts submissions concerning characteristics, processes, distribution, classification and management/remediation of sulfidic soils in coastal, mining and mined, and other inland environments. Papers dealing with biogeochemical processes, ecotoxicological assessment and remediation of acid drainage from coastal and mine site ASS are particularly welcome. In addition, papers concerning characteristics, processes and environmental impacts of sulfidic materials and acid sulfate materials such as acid rain-affected soils, mangrove and salt marsh soils, sulfidic dredge spoils, sulfidic and jarositic industrial wastes are also welcomed.  
 

     Abstracts of no more than 500 words should be submitted on-line by October 30, 2007. Notification of acceptance/rejection will be made by January 31, 2008. The authors of the accepted papers will be invited to submit full papers for publication in the conference proceedings. All full papers should be submitted by May 16, 2008. It is the organizers' intention to publish selected papers in a book or as a special issue of a scholarly journal, subject to a peer review process. Selected papers of the 5 th International Acid Sulfate Soil Conference were published in SCI-indexed Australian Journal of Soil Research.

     The maximum page number of the papers for inclusion in the conference proceedings is 4 pages.
